Getting ready for patient participation

Posted: 7 November, 2010 by

Last week we kicked off our five part series on patient engagement with a rhetorical question: “Why bother about  user engagement in primary health care?” This week’s instalment looks at “Getting Ready for Patient Participation”.  In the coming weeks we will explore  “Counting up Patient Participation”; “Get Off on the Right Foot with Your Patient Participation Group” and “Patient and Public Participation can Liberate the NHS”.

We hope you find these discussions useful and we’d like to hear what you think.  An edited version of this paper appeared in Primary Health Care in June 2010.

The Moore Adamson Craig Partnership supports user and public participation,  trains lay representatives and develops responsive  health, care and education organisations.
