Natalie Goldsmid-Whyte

Natalie Goldsmid-Whyte is a Managing Partner of a successful and innovative GP Practice in South West London. The Balham Park Surgery was among the first to appoint a non medic as a partner and so Natalie was at the forefront of this positive change in primary care protocols. Like her GP colleagues, she is self employed and brings an efficient business management approach to the practice as well as a truly patient centred attitude. Natalie has ensured that her Practice is at the forefront of any initiative that develops informed patient choice whilst maintaining fully first class standards of clinical care. The Balham Park Surgery has a lively and effective Patient Liaison Group which was nurtured into life by Natalie in the early 2000’s and has been sustained by her energy and inspiration. All the GPs, therapists and support staff are actively involved with the Group and see the positive advantages of relating to patients beyond the consulting room.

In addition to setting up the on-going Patient Liaison Group, Natalie’s achievements at Balham Park Surgery since 1996 include facilitating the building design and move to new premises, expanding the team to develop new clinical and non-clinical services and taking the practice through various accreditation programmes and awards. As a result her practice was the first in England to achieve the RCGP Quality Practice Award, the first in London to achieve Investors in People and the first in England to become Disability Symbol Users.

Whilst working at Balham Park Surgery, Natalie also undertook a number of projects with the Wandsworth Primary Care Trust including acting as Education and Support Lead; facilitating Business Education and Development plans for 20 practices; conducting skills audits; facilitating working parties on workforce and recruitment issues; monitoring Clinical Governance targets and chairing a Managers professional forum.

Prior to this Natalie worked for 10 years as a civil servant working on a variety of employment projects in South West London giving her wide ranging experience in management, training and development.

Natalie Goldsmid-Whyte has assisted the MAC partnership with their work with a number of primary care trusts on patient involvement in primary care and has now agreed to become an Associate of the MAC Partnership LLP.

Natalie is a Fellow of the Institute of Healthcare Management and has a BA in Psychology. She is an accredited Assessor for City & Guilds National Vocational Qualifications, the Royal College of GPs “Quality Practice Award” and the Institute of Healthcare Management “Fellowship of Assessment” and other IHM initiatives.

Natalie has been a consultant editor for Croner I, Improving Access to Pyschological Therapies (IAPT) Board Member and Employment/Retention Lead, she is an HR consultant to a number of health providers and a general consultant to Kings College, Kings Fund and University of Birmingham Health Services Management Centre, School of Public Policy and the Royal College of General Practitioners. She has written management and business skills articles for Croner publications and Management in Practice and she is a mentor to NHS Graduates and the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

Natalie’s understanding of and commitment to the efficient and effective involvement of patients in the design and delivery of services at GP practice level and across primary care trusts is impressive and well known and marked by a long list of achievements and appointments.

The MAC partnership is delighted to welcome Natalie Goldsmid-Whyte into a closer working relationship and know that the partnership and our clients will benefit from her extensive experience and progressive and positive attitude to patient involvement.
